Where to Start
Buying your first handmade hat? One safe pick from each group:
For winter cold — a black or brown mink ushanka. Light, warm to about -25°C with the flaps down, and it goes with any coat.
For everyday autumn — a grey tweed newsboy or flat cap for men, a black wool newsboy cap for women.
For an elegant look — a black wool cloche or a classic mink beret.
For summer — a white or beige linen Breton cap.

Hat Gift Guide
A hat is one of the most personal gifts you can give — and one of the most useful, because it gets worn every day of the season.
For him. A mink ushanka if he lives with real winters; a tweed newsboy or flat cap if he likes a classic, smart-casual look. Both are hard to get wrong in black, brown or grey.
For her. A mink fur beret or a fur hood for winter, a wool cloche for an elegant everyday look, a linen Breton cap for summer trips. Black and ivory are the safest colors.
For a teenager. A youth ushanka in raccoon or grey, or a cotton newsboy cap in black or cocoa — styles that look current, not "dressed by parents".
If you don't know the size. Measure a hat they already wear: lay it flat and measure the inner band, or ask us for help. Fur hoods and headscarves with ties are the most forgiving gift — they adjust to almost any head.
How We Make a Hat
Every hat and cap on this page is made in our own workshop in Ukraine, the way we've done it since 2010.
1. Choosing the material. Each fur pelt is checked by hand for density, softness and even color; fabrics are chosen for weight and how they hold a shape. Material that doesn't pass goes back.
2. Cutting. Patterns are cut piece by piece — the eight panels of a newsboy cap, the crown and flaps of an ushanka, the sections of a fur beret — so the pile and grain run in the right direction.
3. Sewing. The pieces are stitched together, with extra reinforcement where hats take the most stress: ear-flap seams, brims and crown joins.
4. Shaping. Each hat is formed to its final shape so the crown sits evenly and keeps its form season after season.
5. Final check. Every hat is inspected and measured before it's packed and shipped to you.
Sizes run from 54 to 62 cm depending on the style; exact sizes are listed on each product page. See our hat size guide and hat care guide.
Questions
Which hat should I choose for my climate?
For winters below -10°C, a fur hat or ushanka with ear flaps. For mild winters and autumn, a wool or tweed newsboy cap, flat cap, cloche or wool beret. For summer, a linen cap or linen beret.
Do you make hats for both men and women?
Yes. Men's styles include fur hats, ushankas, newsboy caps and flat caps. Women's styles include fur hats, fur berets and hoods, newsboy and Breton caps, berets, cloche hats and summer linen caps. Many caps work for both — sizing is by head circumference, not gender.
How do I find hats in my size?
Measure your head just above the ears and eyebrows, then check the size options on each product page. Most styles come in 55–61 cm, some from 54 or up to 62 cm. Not sure? Send us your measurement and we'll suggest the right size.
