Women's Summer Caps

Women's summer caps handmade in Ukraine — linen Breton caps in 15 colors, from white and beige to mint, peach and red, plus a cotton Greek fisherman cap. Light, breathable and easy to pack, sized 55–61 cm.

A Cap Made for Warm Weather

A summer cap has a different job from a winter one. It doesn't need to keep you warm — it needs to keep the sun off your face and hair, let your head breathe, and look easy with a linen shirt or a sundress.

That's why our summer caps are made from linen. It's light, it lets air through, it dries fast and it softens with every wear. Each cap is cut and sewn by hand in our workshop, with the Breton shape — a rounded crown and a short, straight brim that shades the eyes without getting in the way.

Linen Breton Caps

The Breton is the summer version of the newsboy cap: the same rounded crown, a neater straight brim and a flatter profile. It looks tidy with a shirt and relaxed with shorts, and it folds into a bag without losing its shape for long.

Most of our linen Breton caps are unlined, so they stay as light and airy as possible. The burgundy Breton has a soft lining, for cooler summer evenings and early autumn.

15 Summer Colors

Light neutrals — white, ivory and beige. The classic summer look: cool in the sun and easy with any color.

Everyday neutrals — grey, khaki, brown and black. Practical colors for the city and travel; they don't show dust and go with denim.

Soft pastels — pink, peach, mint green and light blue. Fresh and feminine, made for sundresses and white linen.

Bright accents — yellow, red, blue and burgundy. When you want the cap to be the main detail of the outfit.

Cotton Greek Fisherman Cap

A taller crown, a short brim and a crisp sailor look — the cap you see on Mediterranean harbors. Ours is made in ivory cotton: a little more structured than linen, cool to wear and perfect with stripes, white trousers and boat shoes.

Sizing

Measure around your head just above the ears. Most summer caps come in two size ranges: 55–58 cm and 59–61 cm. They have no internal adjuster, so if you're on the boundary, choose the larger range. Full guide: hat size guide.

Women's Summer Caps — Questions

Is a linen cap good for hot weather?

Yes, it's the best fabric for it. Linen lets air through, absorbs moisture and dries quickly, so your head doesn't overheat. Light colors like white, ivory and beige also reflect the sun better than dark ones.

Does a linen Breton cap protect from the sun?

The brim shades your eyes and forehead, and the crown covers your hair and scalp. For long hours in strong sun, still use sunscreen on your face — a cap protects, but it isn't a full sun hat.

Will a linen cap wrinkle?

Linen creases a little — that's part of its natural, relaxed look. The crown keeps its overall shape; after packing, smooth it with your hands or give it a few minutes of steam.

Can I wash a linen summer cap?

Hand-wash it in cool water with a mild detergent, don't wring or twist it, reshape it while damp and dry it on a rounded form or a rolled towel. Keep it away from the dryer and direct heat.

What is a Greek fisherman cap?

A summer cap with a taller, softer crown and a short brim, traditionally worn by sailors and fishermen in the Mediterranean. It looks a little more nautical than a Breton and works best with stripes and white.

Which summer cap color should I choose?

For one cap that goes with everything, white, ivory or beige. For travel and the city, grey, khaki or black — they don't show dust. For a bolder look, pick a pastel or a bright color that repeats one color in your outfit.

Can I take a linen cap on vacation?

Yes — it's light, takes little space and fits in a bag or a carry-on. Pack it on top of your clothes rather than under heavy items, and reshape it with your hands when you take it out.
