Women's Fur Hats
Cocoa-brown fox, a soft suede top, and a shape that sits easily on the head. This is Yaroslavna in its warmest colorway.
A deep band of brown arctic fox wraps the whole head. The fur shifts from rich chocolate at the base to lighter caramel at the tips, so it changes tone as you move — darker in shade, almost golden in sunlight. Above the band sits a brown suede crown, sewn in shaped panels with visible top-stitching. The matte suede and the glowing fur make this women's fox fur hat feel cozy rather than formal.
What Suede Brings to a Round Fur Hat
Suede has a velvety nap that softens the whole look. It doesn't shine, so the eye goes straight to the fox, and its earthy texture pairs effortlessly with wool, tweed and knitwear. It's also light: the crown adds structure without adding weight, so the hat is comfortable through a long day out.
A padded lining sits inside, and a drawstring in the band adjusts the fit within each size. Warm to roughly −15°C. Before cutting, the farm-raised arctic fox pelts are laid out side by side and sorted until the brown runs evenly from front to back — then everything is sewn by hand in Ukraine.
Styling a Brown Fox Hat
Brown fur is the easiest fur to wear with everyday clothes. A camel coat and cream scarf look polished; a navy peacoat and jeans look relaxed; a forest-green parka feels outdoorsy. Brown suede boots or gloves pull the whole outfit together without trying.
The same Yaroslavna shape comes in white fox with a white leather top. Love warm tones with more texture? Our raccoon fur hat adds black-tipped stripes and long ear flaps.

Questions People Ask
Brown or white Yaroslavna — which one should I choose?
Shape, sizing and warmth are identical. White fox with white leather is bright and dressy, ideal for snowy settings and special occasions. Brown fox with suede is warmer in tone and more relaxed, and it's the easier choice for daily wear because it's far more forgiving of city dirt. If your wardrobe leans toward camel, olive and denim, brown will feel more like you.
How is the suede top different from the leather top on the white version?
Leather has a polished face that sheds water instantly. Suede is the same type of hide finished with a soft, brushed nap, so it looks matte and feels velvety. Suede gives a more casual, textured look; leather looks sleeker. Both are light and windproof. The trade-off is care: suede needs a little protection from rain, while leather simply wipes clean.
How do I protect the suede crown from snow and rain?
Before the first wear, spray the suede lightly with a colorless water-repellent made for suede, keeping the spray away from the fox. Repeat once or twice a season. Dry snow can simply be brushed off. If the suede gets wet, let it dry at room temperature, then lift the nap with a suede brush. Avoid heaters and hair dryers, which stiffen the hide.
What shade of brown is the fox fur exactly?
It's a layered brown: deep chocolate close to the skin, lightening to caramel and soft beige at the very tips. In daylight the hat reads as warm cocoa with a golden glow; indoors it looks a little darker. Because each pelt varies slightly, the exact balance of dark and light differs a touch from hat to hat, but always within the same brown family.
Will cocoa fur clash with black outerwear?
No — it's a classic pairing that looks rich rather than mismatched. Brown fur softens a black coat and adds warmth near the face. To tie the look together, add one more brown or caramel element: gloves, a bag or boots. Avoid mixing several different browns at once; one brown accent besides the hat is enough.
Is this a good hat for late autumn and early spring?
It's ideal for those in-between seasons. Without ear flaps and with a light suede top, it doesn't overheat when the temperature hovers around zero, yet the fox keeps your forehead and ears comfortable on frosty mornings. Many women reach for it from November through March and save a hat with flaps for the coldest weeks.
Should my bag or boots match the hat?
They don't need to match exactly, but echoing the color helps. Brown suede ankle boots, cognac leather gloves or a tan bag make the hat look intentional. Black accessories work too if your coat is black. The one thing to avoid is a very different brown — for example, reddish leather next to cocoa fur — which can make both look off.
Can the suede rub color onto light hair?
No. The suede sits on the outside of the crown, and the padded lining separates it from your hair, so there's no direct contact. Only the soft inner edge of the fox band meets the hairline. To keep the suede looking its best, simply keep the hat dry, as you would any suede item.
